If you want to keep it simple use VNC (Virtual Network Computing) - you can download it for free. This is essentially a remote terminal connector for a pc. You set up your pc as a 'host', and the client gets on their pc and connects to your machine. They can run apps, etc as if they were sitting at the machine.
