>>>Sure, "Bahá'í" is Arabic, not English. The diacriticals on the vowels reflect the particular system of transliteration used.

>>>Well, I think I will just leave it as is, to reflect what seems to be common usage. It might look a little weird to some if I capitalize both "Earth" and "Mankind"!

>That is for a different reason alltogether: because I consider them something special. It is also customary - both within and without the Bahá'í Faith - to capitalize certain words, which represent things considered sacred.

>Or important. For example, I remember that in "Winnie the Pooh", certain words are capitalized - quite contrary to common usage - simply because they represent things that are important for the figures involved!

Again, I can imagine.

Here you gave some reasons that are often used to capitalize. Now, why can't these rules be applied to the word Internet? Is it still something special? Is it sacred? It can be argued that it is no longer special and certainly not sacred. And therefore no longer a candidate for capitalization.

Your Winnie the Pooh argument is somewhat invalid since it was the writer's artisitc choice to do so.
