The majority of ActiveX controls work without problems when you drop them onto the design surface. However, some ActiveX controls are "windowless" and as a result are automatically "windowed" by C#/VB.Net which sometimes causes more problems than it solves. As far as I know (and I don't use ActiveX directly with Windows Forms) there is no real way to solve these problems other than switching to another control or dropping it completely.
