Randy, XP themes only appears under WinXP and then only if WinXP has been set to use themes. Themes are not available under prior versions of Windows. In this case you will have to look at VFP-SKins as mentioned in another response.

>I think I have themes turned on, but I don't notice any difference from when the application was running under VFP 7.0. Is there some global themes setting that I am missing, becuase each control already has the property set to yes?

>>Hi Randy,
>>
>>If your app is in VFP8 then probably the single fastest way to make the app look more modern is to switch on XP themes for your forms and form controls.
>>
>>There are also other cosmetic touchs that you can switch on/off for all controls. Lastly, if you use a lot of icons and graphics then upgrade them to more modern style. Check the buttons here on the UT which were recently "upgraded". They look very slick and with the times again.
>>
>>These changes require really no programming changes and hence should be possible to implement quite quickly.

>>>I am trying to improve the look and feel of a legacy Foxpro app. It was originally written in FoxPro for dos and then converted to VFP for windows. It has been upgraded one version at a time to 8, but it still has a Windows 3.1 look and feel. Even creating new forms looks very plain. What are some ways that I can improve the look? Should I be looking for new controls? Is ActiveX the way to go? ANy ideas will be helpfull.
>>>
>>>I also want to say thanks to the poeple in this forum. Every single question I have ever asked has been followed within a day with numerous answers. I really do appreciate it and feel like I am on my way to becomming areal FoxPro developer.
