As usual, Sergey, you've been a wealth info. I have one project that will, from time to time, need to email information about the projects runtime status (no attachments) . Would the best advice be to SMTP (with the APIs, not the OCX).

Thanks

>>Thanks. I would guess MAPI is like an IEE standard - but it seems different vendors (or software) may have their own MAPI 'package' - or would it be [just] a wrapper to MS's MAPI32 DLL.
>>
>>For example - the MAPI DLL Eudora uses is not the same MAPI DLL that Outlook uses! And (furthermore:-), it seems the MAPI logon for Outlook (using desktop namespace) is different than the CDO MAPI.Session logon that requires an MS Exchange logon.

>>Just curious how all this stuff works! So I can copy the MAPI DLL on my desktop and install it without regard for licensing?:-)
