Application scenario: The user works with a queried FoxPro data set, in this case a sequence of raw materials & instructions which compose a specific chemical recipe. Each row (representing an individual raw material or instruction) has numerous associated fields, such as code number, description, amount, etc. The entire recipe is visible & editable by the user. The user may want to modify individual data items on various rows, delete a row, insert or append additional rows, etc.

All of this works just fine in FPW 2.6.

I am now converting this application to Visual FoxPro. Using a buffered view of the network table works great, except for one of the above features. There is no way of directly INSERTing a row, new rows can only be appended. The ability to insert a row (or multiple rows) anywhere in the data set is a necessary function for users of this application.

In FPW 2.6, INSERT (not INSERT-SQL) achieved this. I do not know how to replicate this functionality using buffered table views. Suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks,
Randy W.
