We are using TS in a few sites now and i find it great. there is a mixture on all sites of users being traditional network users and TS users. the machines they are using are however relative expensive compared to regular networks. server is dual xeon best spped at buying time and memory is 2GB, also GBs switches to remove another bottle neck. another client is using VNC server and client, its free but you can pay for support if needed, i used it a few years ago and was not impressed as it was not the best but the current version seems fine. the only problem we have had, and i had it again last night, was that people sometimes shut down the TS session rather than closing our application which makes updating fun, however if you have their passwords you can log on as then and shut them down which is what we do with one customer.

>Hello all, I am looking for some advice or general suggestions here. We have a VFP 8 app we are looking to open to remote use. I have been reading about terminal services in Windows 2000/2003 and Citrix. We recommend solutions for school districts, so cost and initial ease of setup are a concern. Each server could have anwhere from 1 to 15 'traditional' users and a large number of remote users. This is a Mere Mortals application, so when I say 'traditional' I mean that they run a local EXE with a registry entry pointing to a centrally located server location. Does anyone have any experience with this type of setup? How difficult is this to administer? Do you have a preference for the terminal product? I am leaning towards Windows Terminal Services because most our clients already run Windows servers and adademic pricing for TS licenses is pretty cheap. Also, some of our remote users are MACs, so the solution needs to support that (I think both do?) Any thoughts?
