Jim,
the network is Win 2K dedicated Dell Server with about 6-7 stations. The printer used for the problem report is an OKI 320 pin feed on plain paper shared from another Win 98 PC. The problem happens as soon as you try to run the report. There are no XP stations. They have been having problems with the printer and it is being replaced with an HP Laser in the next week. The stations will also be replaced with new Dell Win 2K Optiplex PCs.

When all the new hardware is in place there should be no more problems. My worry is with the many other customers and prospects that still have a few Win 98 PCs. That is why would like to find the reason for the problem now.

>>I upgraded my beta customer to VFP 8 and we are now having an error with one or two reports of the most run reports. Our program error log shows that the wrong cursor is selected when the report is run. The error is "Veriable myvar Not Found" where myvar is a field in the cursor. The log shows the currently selected table at the time of the error and it is wrong.
>>
>>This report is a picking ticket and is run 50 to 80 times a day. The error occurs mostly on one Win 98 PC although the tickit is run from 4 PCs. A few times it also occurs on the one other Win 98 PC. No problems on the Win 2K PCs.
>>
>>This report ran fine for 3 year until the upgrade. No changes were made to it except a re-compile. We create the cursor in a prg and then call the report. The last line before running the report selects the cursor. I edited the report and put the cursor in the data enviornment. To test it I then selected the wrong table just before calling the report. The report ran ok telling me the data environment did what it was supposed to do.
>>
>>I installed the update last night and this morning the customer called saying the probem happens much more often now, about one in every 8-10 times it is called where before it was only 1-2 times a day.
>>
>>Everyone said that VFP 8 would run OK on Win 98. Anyone got any ideas on what I can do? I really don't want to force customers to upgrade although over the next year Win 98 PCs should be mostly history.
