Hi Jos,

Thanks for the help. I used your hint of holding down athe F8 key while the system was booting. That made the system pause long enough for me to get acess to the BIOS set up. That was a start at least.

All is well now as I was able to access the boot.ini from another machine on the network and tweak the OS start up.

>Ken, NT and W2K and other allow booting into safe mode. Two ways (1) press and hold the F8 key while NT loads. This should get you a menu while still in DOS from which you can choose Safe Mode. (2) Let NT load fully then switch off the machine. On the next load this should force NT to ask you if you have a problem and offer to go into safe mode (and other options).
