I need help understanding something about how Outlook archives messages.
Here are the settings in the AutoArchive of the properties of the Sent box (checked items):
Archive this folder using these settings:
Clean out items older than 2 months
Move old items to: C:document settings.....\archive.pst
What is strange is that when I look in the outlook, I see Sent folder in the Archive Folders and it has all messages that are 2 months older. In my regular Sent box there all messages (that is, the current ones and the once of 2 months old). When I look at the file archive.pst on the hard drive, the date of this file is very old (about 2000).
My question is, what good is this type of archiving if my Sent messages are just duplicated in the Outlook.pst file and nothing is actually moved to the Archive.pst?
Please let me know if I am misunderstanding something.
Thank you.
