Title:
Reading from com port
Hi,
I am trying to find out how easy it is to capture data from the com port. The data is actually sent to a printer but using a converter I managed to connect it to a pc comm port. Using win95 hyperterminal I captured some sample data:
DCH CONFIRMS: SELL OPEN 1 **** APR 98 RM 595.50
MEMBER : ***** ORDER NO: 001167*** TRADE NO: 43 CUST NO:******
TRADER : ****** ORD DATE: 19980417 TRD DATE: 19980417 SQNO : 00189868
ACCOUNT: A1 ORD QTY : 1 TRD TIME: 09:04:23 COMB :
COUNTER: ***** TYPE : LIMIT PRF CODE: FULL ENV : PRODUCTION
DCH CONFIRMS: BUY CLOSE 1 **** APR 98 RM 595.60
MEMBER : ***** ORDER NO: 00116**** TRADE NO: 56 CUST NO:******
TRADER : ****** ORD DATE: 19980417 TRD DATE: 19980417 SQNO : 00189879
ACCOUNT: A1 ORD QTY : 1 TRD TIME: 09:05:51 COMB :
COUNTER: ***** TYPE : LIMIT PRF CODE: FULL ENV : PRODUCTION
---------------------------------
The program must run from morning to evening without fail. And must run in Win95. Has anyone done it before? I know it can be written using mscomm32 but I have no experience using it. Can I have some sample code please.
thanks
daud
