This is the primary reason not to keep your backup media stored in the same building as your computers/servers. If this had been after hours with no one there to "rescue" your servers, you would have most likely lost them, but hopefully your most current backup media go home or off-site with someone every day.
>We had a fire break out next door to us last Friday at 3:40 PM. We had tons of smoke come through our area as the fire was all over one side of our bldg hitting the wall. We are grateful for a concrete block wall that kept us from losing this bldg. I ran out of the bldg with our two main servers like a mad man.

>Last Friday wasn't Friday the 13th, but Friday the 20th. Seems about the same though. Three hours that business next door burned. About 18 fire trucks. This was a big one. I've never seen so much smoke come from such a small bldg.

>Just thought I'd share this great news. I get to work from home the next few days while we get our air ducts and bldg cleaned out. Ain't life great?
