If the date is formatted according to RFC822, there are two additions:
dayofweek is optional
timezone may also be expressed as: +0200 or -1200
(i've also seen timezones as GMT+2, CET-3, but this are not allowed according to the specs)

(also try to change al the substr(..at()) contruction to getwordnum(..) making it way more readable)
