I too have written more than 10K code in several languages, and if I do say so myself I was damned competent - even master in some - in all of them.

But these were basically sequentially learned and in fact as I got deeper on the current one my skills at the former ones diminished significantly.

"Able" and "master" are very different things and the comment was about mastery.
