We have used SQL Select for years for reporting but are now trying to learn and use all of SQL. In using the SQL Update command it appears that you can only update one record at a time. I had assumed that you would send the same type of command as the SQL select and it would process a group of records but only one gets updated. Am I missing something or is this the way it works. This question is based on my lack of knowledge of SQL, not a problem. To get the update to work on a set of records I put it in a scan/endscan loop of the changed records I wanted to send back to the database. This was on VFP 8.0 but we are getting ready to move to a SQL type server. Either MS or MySql. (Yes we did look long and hard at FireBird.)

I have been trying to find a good source of examples of normal business transactions such as this but everything is very fundamental. Anyone know of any?
TIA
