Hi Dave:

>do you think there is some other information needed related to COM Interop with VFP other than what's included in the whitepaper on Rick's site?

Well, with all due respect, if he feels info is lacking, how would he know what is missing? All he knows is something is missing because he may not yet be comfortable with the topic.

I don't know that it applies in this case, but in general I get frustrated with the attitude that one article is the "be all, end all" source of info on a given topic. From the insiders/gurus point of view, it may seem ludicrous to have multiple articles which seem to say the same thing. In reality, however, to the rank and file developer, it may be the second or third article or example that finally makes it click. And generally it is better if the subsequent articles come from different authors and the sample code, of course, is not merely copied from the "original" article. Why? Because we all have differing perspectives and may be approaching a new topic from the wrong angle because of the way it was presented the first time. Rereading the original article does little to change your perspective because something about it created your erroneous perspective in the first place. This doesn't imply there's anything necessarily wrong with original article, either.

Hope this makes sense. :-)
