Well, I do all my work with Web Forms so far. The only time I have seen this is if a DLL that contains a control on a web form doesn't exist. In this case VS can't render the controls in the design view and I only get the code view.

Not sure if this was your situation, but after you got all your source, did you do a full solution build before trying to open any forms?
