I seem to be a magnet for natural disasters. I watched 3 tornadoes pass over my house when I was growing up in Wisconsin. Watched one as I was driving through Texas. I've experienced numerous hurricanes in North Carolina. I was in Estes Park, CO during the Big Thompson flood of 1976. I was in Monterey, Ca (at DLI) during the earthquake in Oct of 1989. There was an avalanche when I was visiting the Zugspitz in the mid 80's and we couldn't ski. Now I'm watching Hurricane Frances carefully. I hate to wish any ill on anyone but if I'm lucky it will not hit North Carolina and instead it will pass elsewhere (hopefully out in the middle of the Atlantic). I'll pass on experiencing any other natural disasters!
