That is how I started writing apps for the military too. I did it for my unit or section while on active duty. When I worked as a civilian for the NAF on Fort Bragg I wrote a lot of programs for the DCA that did various things like tracking officer club membership, credit card balances and transaction (the Esprit Card), traffic tickets on fort Bragg, Work Orders for the Technical Services branch in DCA, etc. My first program for the military was written in Foxbase+ and it handled classified documents for the 9th Infantry Division at Fort Lewis. Crazy I know, but they WERE using paper at the time.
