Without knowing a little more on what you intend to do, here are a couple of things to think about...
What platforms do you want to support? VFP 3.0 supports only PC and Mac. VFP 5.0 is PC only and no future Mac version has been even teased.
What types of multimedia would you like to take advantage of (ie. sound, graphics, video etc)? If you want to do a lot of sound/graphics or any video, I would consider one of the many authoring tools available (like Macromedia Director). That's what they are best at.
Another thing to consider is the learning curve of the development tool. Although I would like to suggest you learn/work with VFP, it is vastly different from 2.6 and will require a large ramp up time. The best advice is to look at what you want to accomplish and pick the best tool that will help you reach that goal.
