Bill,

I have the same problem with more than just one file. (There was a file server hardware failure that started all these.) I would rather not recreate the PK values but I did it on my one that no other file depends on. I recreated the values to make sure that there could be no duplicates. Then I use the "alter table [table] add primary key...." command but it still did not work. I then freed up the table and made a candidate key instead -that worked! (If there was any duplicate key, I would not have been able to create the key, right?) Because that worked, I include the table back into my database container, removed the candidate key and then issued the alter table command to create the primary key this time. It still did not work-VFP said that a duplicate value exists. Isn't that soooo strange?

I need help, everyone.
