Unfortunately it's very true. Not for all mind you, but I've dealt with various companies in the past and there have been the 'used car salesman' types who will try to guage how far they can push the customer just before they scare them off.

This is changing as the merchant providers are realizing that they are driving customers away because of the commission based process of finding customers.

On the other hand I've had good luck in the recent past and especially dealing with MerchantPlus Authorize.NET has been very good customer service and straight forward sales experience.
