Visual FoxPro Beta
So with that info that you gave us could we say that we'd be better stick with VFP7 unless we really need something in VFP8 or VFP9 that is not in VFP7?
No,I say.
I have many doubts that someone does not have need of some bug killed in VFP8SP1,
the many more bugs killed in VFP9 and of that sure they will come killed in VFP9SP1.
My order of chosen in a development environment:
a) Correctness of implementation ( minimize program bugs )
b) Correctness of design ( minimize design bugs )
because I cannot change them,
and I know to them after very many time, when to return behind difficult choice becomes one.
c) Speed is important, but I can verify it a lot soon and if it is sufficient.
I can always preview a loss to me of the 10-20%, eventually compensated from the time and the hw upgrade.
On along period it is the point b) that it becomes critical,
because many design bugs must be maintained in order to maintain the backward compatibility.
Of course, if the speed is retained or it is increased, we are all happy.
