Mainly that they lead to slovenliness in code and misuse thereof. Not too bothered about the odd 6 line func., e.g. finding something in an array, in a for loop, and EXITing when stisfied, rather than continuing the loop, so long as it's in your face. Personally, I use a "do ... while ... and not llFound" for that purpose, and go the extra few yards to avoid using loop, exit. Still don't see the need for them though, in essence.
