So your saying the assessed lack of performance was planned? My speculation is that "micro" memory leaks are being raised and then plugged as nodes are created and [subsequently] destroyed. Node are being created - process are not completely contained - a little leakage, and then some external node process closes the "leaking" node - thus plugging the leak.
I ran a VFP 8 app under regimon and filemon - and it seemed a VFP was issuing a lot of unresolved requests.Eventualy a return would close the request. It could be XP SP1.
Please - understand - I am not a CS - I spent most of my school days listening to Tom Waits and Jimi while I experimented with various ways to part my hair with the hope of enticing COEDs to smile at me!:-) BTW:None of my styling techniques worked!
