I worked at a major bookstore as well during my school years, and did the same drill (as does just about every bookstore/newsstand).
But come now, John, you're being too harsh. Let's be fair, you're missing some of Sanders' recent contributions and achievements:
- He's an accomplished competitor at the art of sabre (always ready to challenge to a duel)
- He came close to setting the record for most times in one post trying to fly under the radar of any obscenity monitoring
- He's resourceful (who else can find deep discount airline tickets from Texas to Allentown on a Friday night?)
- He knows big words (like sycophant, though we can only give partial credit here, due to incorrect spelling)
- On the topic of words, he's introduced more than just 'mondo' into the UT culture...how about the amusing "gufen SQL" or the impish "snogs around the ankles"?
- He's 'hip'...a few of his 'rapper-like' posts are like listening to an Eminem song
- He's an aggressive entrepreneur, finding 'new, unread' copies of CoDe in dumpters that he can sell (perhaps it's 'seed money' for the new .NET->VFP conversion venture?)

Seriously, I agree, if he did find them in the dumpster, it would have been better to go to a local college and pass them out to comp sci instructors...or as you said, pass them out to a Fox meeting....or return them to the owner!
A few months ago, he busted on Ellen Whitney for her post on the Fox forum regarding VFPConversion (Message #
911482). I think one or two of the questions he posed to Ellen could be asked of him. He also concluded with an ever-so-astute assessment that Ellen's post "sucks loads". Well, that about sums up my views on him...or as you would say, he has me 'non-plussed'. Time to eat your words, William.
