I had the same problem a couple months ago and after many hours on the phone with MS tech. support the solution was as follows...

My problem occurred in apps that were developed prior to me installing Service Pak 3!! Among other things SPK3's upgrades Comctl32.ocx, which evidently has problems.

The only way that we came up with to use the old apps was to completely un-install VFP (including removing all refrences to VFP in the registry) and re-installing VFP...and NOT installing SPK3.

I cuurently use VFP without SPK3 installed.
