I've to repeat myself, "It doesn't explain inconsistency between NVARCHAR, NCHAR and NTEXT() mapping to a memo field". We're not talking about mapping to a character field but to a memo field.

but who has said that inconsistency is one when VFP downloads a N??????? within to a memo ?

It copy the UNICODE data, and this is perfect for me.
