SDT doesn't alter nNextValue because that's meaningless from a meta data point of view except for new tables. However, if you change the step value in the Extended Table Designer, save, then modify the table again, do you see the new step value? I do in SDT 6.1d (I don't have a copy of 6.1b handy so I can't test it in that version).
