To disable Window's Wireless Zero Configuration, open the Services applet from the Administrative Tools menu (from the Control Panel or Start Menu). Find the Wireless Zero Configuration service in the list and right-click it. Click Stop from the context menu.

The manual configuration of the NIC card will vary depending on manufacturer. Follow the manufacturer’s installation guide. To access the properties of the card, open the Network Connections screen (from Control Panel). Right-click your Wireless Network Connection, and click the Properties button. In the Wireless Properties dialog box, click the Configure button in the General tab to bring up the options for your specific wireless adapter.

The main things you'll want to look at are the SSID, IP settings (if you're using DHCP, you can leave this on Auto), and Gateway (again, DHCP will handle that for you).

If it connects after you try a manual configuration, you'll want to set the Wireless Zero Configuration service to Disabled (so it doesn't restart when you reboot).
