>When I was in the Air Force I traveled all over the country and took trips about once a week the last 18 months of my enlistment. Everywhere I went they had record heat, snow, wind and you name it. More than one person told me, “We never had weather like this before you came here”! :)
So we have to toss a coin to see who is the Rain God - you or I.
When we moved to Virginia Beach last year, I managed to get to the beach about four times in July. Out of these four, three times the Cerberoses (aka baywatch guys) have closed the beach because of a storm. We did come home wet each of these three times; luckily, the rain is quite warm here.
When I went to Taos, NM (Hi, Mike!), they had a first good rain in months. I got soaked during the two seconds when I tried to enter a car and saw the front seat was taken. By the time I opened the rear door, I was wet.
In August, I don't really remember whether I tried to visit the beach at all.
In September, we had Isabel, and eleven days without power (but cold showers were available all the time).
This summer, I think we had about ten sunny days here. Six of those were while I was out of town.
