I probably misunderstood the problem and didn't explain it correctly. Zone Alarm does not block VPN Connection, that is, CONTIVITY VPN Client connects to the customer network without a problem. Then when I open their Application icon, which is a web-based application, and this web-based application attempts to map their drive to my pc, ZA blocks something. I have entered the url of this web-based application into the ZA Privacy list giving it privileges but still am having a problem.
>I had this same problem with my firewall at home and vpn to/from work. We use Cisco Secure VPN client and at home my firewall is BlackIce. At home, I had to configure BlackIce to allow the connection to the vpn server and also the server that I connect to a share on. Your vpn connection should show you the ip address of the vpn server. You should already know the ip address of the internal server you connect to a share on.

>>I did read ZA help (a little, after all I am only human <g>). But the problem seems to be not just VPN but something more.
>>
>>Let me describe how I connect to their (customer) network:
>>
>>1. I have Contivity VPN client on my desktop. I click on it and it connects me to their system. I get acknowledgement that I am connected.
>>
>>2. I have another shortcut on my desktop, Partners VPN Applications. When I click on this shortcut, a web page opens asking me to log in with another user name and password. I enter and get connected. I am now on their intranet home page. At this time something (probably IE) tries to automatically map their server to my PC. If my ZA is down, I get Done and Mapped on the status bar of my IE. But if I have ZA open, the status in the IE showing their intranet home page shows "Wait: H HOME18/dl886$;". Basically according to the person from their Help Desk it mean ZA doing something bad <g> and they don't support ZA. Therefore, he suggested I don't use ZA when connecting to their network. But to me it sounds like having unprotected sex <g>.
>>
>>In my ZA Programs control, Contivity VPN client has trusted Access yes. But I can't seem to figure out what program actually does mapping that I can find it in my ZA programs.
>>
>>I hope I make some sense <g>. Let me know if you think of something.
>>
>>Thank you.

>>>You might want to check the online help for ZoneAlarm then. According to ZoneLabs, one of the new features of version 4 is automatic VPN configuration which detects VPN connections and sets your endpoint security for maximum protection. Not sure what that all entails so I would check the helpfile and online support.
