Sorry for jumping in, but wanted to throw in my two cents.

I've used Crystal to build many different types of reports, invoices, forms, etc. Overall, I've built about 250 different pieces of output with it since 1997. The latest version (CR10) offers some new functionality to ease the burden of building complex output. I want to start looking at SQL Reporting Services to see what it has to offer, but I still view Crystal as a strong choice for report development in .NET.

If you're building an app with winforms and users are running reports with the CR runtime DLLs on the user's machine, the distribution is royalty free. For anything where reports are being generated on a web server, it's best to contact Business Objects directly for licensing questions.
