Be that as it may, you are on the record as stating you are not attending the show in an offical capacity. What I thought was lame was you saying you would only attend if you got a free ticket. I can only assume it is a competitive thing between FoxTalk and Advisor....

No Jihad here.....

By the way, if you are really serious about increasing your subscriber base -you will need to do something to justify the $150 subscription price. Until you do that - you don't have a prayer. And again, if you are putting serious efforts behind what you say, then you would be making an offical appearence at the "offical devcon" - in order to show full committment. That said, if you are not going because it is an advisor show - and for competitive reasons - you will not support advisor - you should say that.

To say you son't attend unless you get a free ticket is about as damning and indictment as it gets re: the advisor show. FWIW, I would agree with you - the show sucks, and it has sucked for a long time.

>>That is a pretty sad commentary. Let me get this straight... you are a technical editor of one of the 2 dediciated Fox pubs - and you will not attend the conference for the product you write/publish about? I for one find it astounding that Ragan Pubs won't foot the bill - again for product you write/publish.

>By the end of November I will have attended 4 Fox-related conferences this year and will have met with authors and community leaders at the Las Vegas conference. Both Mike King (FoxTalk's publisher) and I will be in Las Vegas talking with the community, meeting with Microsoft and many of the MVP's, and representing FoxTalk there. That does not show a lack of commitment to excellence or of service to the community -- just the opposite.
>
>Ragan has committed significant resources to the re-launch of FoxTalk, and we are putting even more resources into expanding FoxTalk's subscriber base and reach into the community.
>
>>You really can't say or claim any commitment to excellence if either you or your publisher is too cheap to attend the major conference for Fox.
>
>What is cheap is the shot you just took at me and my publisher. Stop trolling and give up the jihad, John.
