Hullo Mo - how have you been ?
I can't speak of VPM, but -
if you have some blocking problem that was generated via Visual FoxPro into MS-SQL Server ?

then you need to study 'what' that process is
in the User Manager in the Enterprise Manager thingie, in real time, as the block *IS* occurring.
you don't mention WHICH version of MS-SQL you are using -
the techniques to track / view 'that' blocking process vary by version.

In the meantime, though -

what the heck is 'your program' doing during and just prior to the deadlock?
update? insert ? delete ? firing a stored procedure? whats going on ?

can you be a tad more specific ???
