I'm not going to the conference, but I can recommend a good hotel/casino that is on the strip near Circus Circus.

Go to http://www.westwardho.com/ and check out the prices during that period. It looks like you would be paying around $350.00 for 5 days.

I used Map Point to check, and it looks like the DevCon hotel is about 11-12 miles away from this part of the strip.
