Dear Kevin,

Nice parthian shot... from whom did you learn that? ;-)

I have seen two sets of messages: one referring to a proposed sword-fighting duel, one talking about using a bridge as a latrine/concert hall.

Re the duel: though I have lived extensively in the US, I was unaware that sword-fighting duels are still taken seriously in Pennsylvania. I'd have to say I assumed that a challenge to a sword-fighting duel is akin to a race to the Moon or a World Wrestling Federation fight to the death. Technically possible, but not something that most of us allow to impinge on our normal lives.

So come on. Unusual, yes. Appropriate, no. He acknowledged that (unlike your hero who presumably still thinks homophobic bigotry is funny). Frightening to your family? Well, what a shame they got involved. How did that happen, Kevin?

Re using a bridge as a latrine: puh-leez. Your apparent outrage is part of the attraction to young (mostly) males of the species. And bridging is something that many a surgeon or chief of state would have done in their exhuberent youths. Envy them, because one day you will be old and may wish that you did more singing off bridges, since it sounds as if you never did anything like that.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
