I have received further help from Andy Kramek at VFUG.
He informed me of a new 'SET' statement: SET TABLEVALIDATE TO.
Appearantly this was added NEW to VFP8. By default, it is set to 3.
However if you set it to 0, you can then open the table, and if you wish, you can then append the blank record and delete it. (without using VFP6 or 7)
