So keep their input GUI like their older paper form. Old Dog & New Tricks vs. KISS.

I'd have a grid that displays transactions for time as they put it in. Maybe have a cool little pie chart for the emp that sectors by work type so they can see quickly how their time was consumend.

I would also try to make them use a limited list of work types just to keep the summary simpler.

So this is after input is completed correct? Would this be on an single emp or for the group they are monitoring?

I am not a fan of denormalized layout unless your in budgeting.
