I would certainly look at the installation/setup side of NT for this. I use NT4 on my PC at work and still support about a dozen 2.6 apps which are normally run on W95 and were written under 3.1 and have absolutely no problems running them. As for the upgrade: go for it. I did soon after I started here and have never looked back. Bypass VFP3 though.
