John,

>VFP is roughly 80% the same product it was in 1998. Most of the improvements in 7 where developer related. In VFP 8 - you have the stupid task pane - which is a major annoyance. 6 was the last compelling upgrade. If an app runs fine in 6 - there was next to no reason to upgrade to 7 or 8 - or 9 for that matter.

Strange, first you throw in an argument of not beeing able to subscribe to events and now you say the upgrade to 7, 8 or 9 is not worth the cost.

Also I remember you saying that VFP7 was the last major upgrade because of intellisense.

Hmmmm, What about making controls XP theme aware in VFP8, if you're going to make an argument of .NETs GUI you can't ignore this issue in VFP8.

BTW, you can get rid of the task bar if you like (I guess since you don't know much about VFP8 you really are searching for a way to do it, huh ?)

>If you are looking for innovation - turn your attention to .net.

If you're looking for a steep learning curve and complaining about its data integration, go .NET.
