>>Hi.
I remember seeing somewhere recently that Microsoft and/or Ken Levy have committed to supporting VFP until a particluar date.>>

I had read that at microsoft web site if im not mistaken year 2001 or 2002. It has an article posted somewhere at MSDN/ Visual foxpro site, thats the time I frequently visited MSDN/VFP sites for answer on set device to print It was stated that MS will support vfp for the "next 10 years". Thats the reason I had switch backed to Visual Basic programming wayback 2002, but still majority of my programming was with Visual Foxpro.

Try to search within the archive, I have save that article in html format, but i cannot find that article at our office hdd..

Dont worry, who knows VFP might turn the tides, maybe we can promote that Viual foxro is the only MS database product that can run in a LINUX box... next 6 years, plus 5 more years, if microsoft can make profit on VFP, do you think they will simply junk it or discontinue in supporting their own product?

Here in brunei, there are a lot of users of customized application created with Foxpro Dos and clipper. But the majority are in foxpro. I have supported some systems. For financial institution, customized app written in VB. They replace their legacy dos base system with windows base system, normally, VB=> SQL Server, VB=>AS400, VB=>Oracle..

NOTE:

Just presented to government agency handling ICT a Time Billing for our entry in APICTA Competition, our entries are =>eGovernment & Business Application (ASIA Pacific ICT ), some of the participants raise their eye brow when i tell them that the app im going to present was written in Visual Foxpro, they thought FOXPRO is dead..I said foxpro is still alive and kicking...:) Some presentor also carry business application written with Visual Foxpro...

Ok enough, the topic went stray with my contribution. :)
