I will try changing the position of NODEFAULT. I can't trace, because it works when I trace. I put some wait windows to show that the PARTS table is on the correct record when I first move from the List tab to the main tab. And it is on the correct record when I move to another record using the Inspect This Part feature, so when I click back to the List tab, it should be on that part. And it is at first, however in the Activate method of the List tab I refresh the grid on the List tab (the grid is the only control on that tab). Immediately after that refresh the record pointer changes to the incorrect record (and it always seems to the be record that was displayed in the first line of the grid when I initially left the List tab).

>Just curious, does it make a difference whether NODEFAULT is issued first or last in your IF...ENDIF? Also, if you trap (from the point of hitting enter and this point on) when the record number in the main table changes - when does it occur? Verify the value is correct and the record number when you press ENTER and then see when the record number changes in that table specifically. You do not have any relationship setup between the two tables in the dbc right?
