Lorenz, you are correct that the limit you are quoting is external to reports. It is not imposed by the Report Designer or by any of the runtime elements; it is imposed solely by the use of the font dialog box. VFP sets this limit when it displays the dialog.

This is not the 'only way' in VFP 9 <s>.

At designtime you could adjust the Report Builder to use a different dialog instead of GETFONT()

At runtime you could use a reportListener and EvaluateContents to do it.

FWIW, I would prefer to do this at designtime. The Report Designer copes with sizes outside BETWEEN(,4,127) perfectly well, it even seems to adjust the old font resource records to match, and it's nice to be able to see the results in the layout.
