I realise that the data structures could be a little more normalized and in reality I would have something like you suggest, but it made it easier to describe the situation.

I wasn't sure if I should have a specialised method on the player biz object named something like 'CreateAllPlayers' or whether this should be a method on the seasons object which loops round and calls out to the player object to create the record one at a time.

You're correct when you say that the player biz object represents one player at a time, so I think your suggestion of having the season object repeatedly call the player object is the way to go.
