Hi, Jay.
The members banned from Universal Thread were very few in its entire history. Just three, exactly. They received the appropriate warning about being breaking the web site rules, and they went on with this behaviour. In all cases, an investigation was open, and the decision involves consensus of all the UT team.
Part of this involves an abnormal amount of sensitive messages, complains for other members, and general problems and discomfort on the membership as a whole.
Bad attitude and uncompliant behavior affects both our community as a good place to share mostly technical information, and UT as an institution, by damaging our image.
Universal Thread is a private company, and there are some rights that we keep for ourselves. If you analyze the history of our service, you will find very little actions that could be considered censorship or any other kind of dictatorial behavior.
Anyway, we appreciate every member opinion an worries about our service as it is widely open and we consider very seriously its community aspect.
In this regards, I invite you to keep discussing this topic privately any time you want.
Best regards,
