Hi, Charles,

Thanks. Yes, in retrospect, I should have started another thread. At this point, I don't know if starting another thread is considered 'reposting'.

That post is actually a portion of a whitepaper that will be on my website. It's a 'starter guide' with 13 points. My website will be up sometime the first week of October, with some content available right away and more content later this year. (The URL is commongroundsolutions.net).

The on-line community for .NET is just astounding. And it's only going to get bigger.

Yes, Jesse Liberty is an outstanding author. His C# book is probably the best one on the market. I still refer to it sometimes. I have Troelsen's book on C#/.NET platform and it's also good. I haven't been on DotNetNuke very much, though I agree there's great potential there. I also haven't used the Deitel series, though I've never heard anything but strong recommendations. I started listening to Carl Franklin's DotNetRocks!, and that's a good one.

I was in Perrysburg in 1989 when Dr. Dave had dBase IV on one machine and FoxPro 1 on another machine...and ran code in a fraction of the time with FoxPro. It was a riot. The release of Fox 1 was a great event...those of us writing xBase code at the time thought we were in heaven. You're right, the better the tools (and acquired/assembled toolkits), the more time that can be focused on addressing client needs.

Thanks for your message,
Kevin
