John,

>>I just don't like seeing someone get a bad rap beause his opinions run counter to the mainstream.

If I saw that happen, I'd agree with you.

In this case, when somebody starts hammering French Speaking Canadians when even those of us on the other side of the world know that such people are (rightly) proud of their cultural and language heritage... well, at some point even you have to start questioning the motive.

And before you call me jealous and/or inferior: you know as little about my achievements or abilities as you say we do about JVP. Doesn't stop you casting derogative sweeping generalizations around, though. I've been around as long as you and can say beyond a doubt that this used to be a mutually respectful community where the motive was to "help", not to needle. Perhaps we should all make more of an effort to move back to that- I know if I'd spent as much time helping newbies as I have contradicting certain others, I'd probably feel happier about my contribution. How about you?
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
