I know that JVP has a lot of potential. I bought one of his books and saw how helpful he could be when he wanted to help others.

But strangely it looked to me like he was obsessed with that VFP thing.

I'm sure he convinced many that it would be better to go the .Net route.

But that did'nt look like it was enough. He wanted everyone using VFP to convert. And that where he hit the wall <g>

.Net is probably a very interesting development environment but how interesting could it be when a developer knows that he does'nt need it. When building apps you don't change just for the fun of changing. There has to be something in the end justifying that change.

So in the end it remains a choice that should be made by each developer.

So instead of continuing to argument with those that don't want to change their environment go on with what you're doing while thinking that you were not able to save everyone but at least you saved some developers.

And by the way I've never been jealous of JVP. I just found it a bit sad that he put so much energy on something that trivial when he could have put that wasted time on helping others.

Is'nt that the main reason the UT is here?

>I don't idolize him. I just don't like seeing someone get a bad rap beause his opinions run counter to the mainstream. You speak from zero knowledge about JVP and his abilities. I have been around the fox for a long, long time and on the Thread since nearly the beginning, so I remember the days of JVP's main contributions before he was tarred and feathered by those on teh list extrememly jealous of his abilities.

>>Poor you would'nt you like to be like him. You seem to sorta idolize him. Perhaps you should enquire about that tv show called "Extreme makeover". Perhaps they could help you in that direction.

>>>LOL.. you guys are amazing.... He has moved on. He has a law degree and is working with oracle and .net. He has positioned himself nicely for the future, unlike the die hard foxheads in this forum who have the heads buried in the sand and refuse to see the future.

>>>>Should'nt it be time to move on. Perhaps he realizes that his best accomplishments are behind him and he wants to profit from those as long as he can before falling into oblivion.
