It's easy to draw conclusions from individual words, and to make syntactic rules about their acceptable use. But there is a deeper level to discourse, far more important than the precise choice of words. That is what really matters, especially in such an international community as this one.

Take tact, for example. Maybe you should have considered a private message, if you are concerned for Jim's welfare. I do think you are sometimes tactless, and perhaps not even aware of it. I apologize if it was tactless of me to say that, honestly.

Take another thing: condescension. I would never accuse you of that, and I hope you won't think me condescending for pointing this out. I know that you don't speak English as well as I do, so I'm just trying to be very clear. There's way too much condescension around here, and it offends me far more deeply than any use of "bad words". I don't generally speak up about it, and I suspect that a whole lot of people are just as disgusted as I am about the smarmy, know-it-all attitude that is all too often exhibited by those who are so full of themvelves, they just can't help but gush it out all over us.

Last, but not least, there's BS. How do you quantify that? I despise it above all.

Anyway, I'm speaking up now to urge everyone to cool it. These are rough times, and we're seeing the signs of the pressure. Let's try to hang in and help each other, or else give serious thought to keeping our mouths shut.
